Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information Ovatek collects when you use this website or buy from us, why we collect it, and how you can access or correct it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

• Order details: your name, delivery address, email address, phone number and the products you bought. Payment details are processed by Shopify Payments or the payment provider you choose. We never see or store your full card number.
• Hatch Support messages: if you contact us by email or WhatsApp, we keep the conversation, including any photos you send, so we can help you through the hatch and handle warranty claims.
• Website usage: pages viewed, device type and approximate location, collected through cookies and similar tools so the site works and so we can measure our advertising.
• Newsletter: your email address if you subscribe to hatching tips. Every email has an unsubscribe link.

Why we collect it

To deliver your order, provide Hatch Support and warranty service, answer your questions, send you the newsletter you asked for, improve the site, and show relevant advertising on platforms such as Meta and Google. We do not sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

Shopify, which hosts this store; our Australian fulfilment warehouse and carriers, so they can deliver your order; our payment providers; email and messaging providers we use to run Hatch Support and the newsletter; and advertising platforms, in the form of hashed identifiers and website events, so we can measure campaigns. Some of these providers store data outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union.

Cookies

We use cookies for the shopping cart, site analytics and advertising measurement, including the Meta Pixel. You can block cookies in your browser; the cart may stop working if you do.

How long we keep it

Order records for 7 years as required by Australian tax law. Hatch Support conversations for the 2-year warranty period. Newsletter subscriptions until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Email support@ovatek.com.au. We respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

We update this policy when our practices change. Last updated: September 2026.
